Snoop Dogg sentenced to pick up trash
Snoop Dogg has been sentenced to 160 hours of community service that will include picking up trash as a result of carrying an illegal weapon in an airport last year.
The rap star, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr chose to serve out the sentence in a park in Orange County, California.
Snoop Dogg will do "everything from raking leaves to painting benches," his attorney, Donald Etra, told the Associated Press.
Authorities picked up Snoop Dogg on September 27, 2006 at John Wayne Airport in Orange County after they discovered a collapsible baton in one of his bags.
The rapper said it was a prop for a video, but authorities said it was a dangerous weapon.
Snoop Dogg pleaded guilty last month to one count of felony possession of a dangerous weapon, which may be reduced to a misdemeanour if he doesn't break the law for one year.
The sentence also includes three years of probation, a $1,000 fine and a $10,000 donation to a country charity for troubled youth.
